How to setup RPDC Laptops (Education Division)
Unpack machines, be sure to remove plastic from the back of the lcd bezel and the plastic above the power button.
Boot off Image Disk
Choose 7, "Start Powerquest Deploy Center" from Image Menu
Choose "Restore Image"
Click "Browse"
Choose "I:PQDIDEVRPDC10.PQI"
Hit "Next"
Delete all existing Disk Parititons
Hit "Next"
Choose "Automatically resize partitions proportionally to fit"
Hit "Ok"
Hit "Finish"
Reboot after Image has dropped
Enter BIOS, set current BIOS password and change Boot Order to boot off the hard-drive first.
When the computer first boots up, enter the computer name as "VH2200-LPTP-XX", where X is the number for the laptop from 01 to 20. Make sure if you are entering a single digit name that you include the leading zero, (01, 02, 03 .. 09, etc)
Join the domain, and logon as administrator after it reboots. Make sure you have the computer account moved to the RPDC OU (Academic Divisions => Education => Regional Professional Development)
Register the MAC address of the wireless network card with ITS:
http://itnet.truman.edu/portal/2/wirelessmac.asp
(Use "kmurphy" as the Username of machine’s owner)
Setup the Wireless network with the WEP Key.

You can’t just connect to the wireless network and have it prompt you for the key you need to go into the Wireless Network properties and enter the WEP key manually. (Control Panel => Network Connections> Right click on "Wireless Network Connection" click Properties => Wireless Networks Tab => Highlight TrumanWireless => Properties => Uncheck "They Key is provided automatically" and then enter it above) Also disable 802.1x authentication under the Authentication tab. This is important to be set other wise the wireless will not work.
Disable boot menu. DeepFreeze will cause the boot menu to appear saying Windows didn’t load succesfully since everytime you reboot the computer is back in its original state. To stop the boot menu from appearing you need to disable it. To do this go to the Control Panel => System => Advanced Tab => under Startup and Recovery click Settings. Uncheck "Time to display list of operating systems" and uncheck "Time to display list of recovery options when needed"
Change Admin password and Freeze the Drive:
Set the adminsitrator password to the current standard (or get full time staff to update this for you) and then freeze the drive. To do this, hold down CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+F6 and the Deep Freeze screen will appear.
Enter the DeepFreeze Password:

Select "Boot Frozen" under "Status on Next Boot"
Shutdown the computer, and you’re done.
