UPDATE: Banner Upgrade is complete and all Banner and Banner integrated, dependent services should now be available

Banner Upgrade

The Banner system is scheduled for a major upgrade on Monday, July 4th.  Banner and all Banner integrated, dependent services including the Banner links in Tools in TruView will be unavailable starting at 4am Monday morning, July 4th, and will remain down until the completion of the upgrade. Please plan for Banner services to be unavailable all day.  

This Service Note will be updated to announce services are available upon completion of the upgrade.

At approximately 4:12 PM today, June 29th, 2022, ITS was notified of a power surge that affected numerous neetwork switches across campus.  During this surge, multiple network devices in multiple buildings went offline.  As of 4:40 PM, it appears that most, if not all of the systems are back online.  We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your understanding.

We experienced a power surge this afternoon in several buildings that disrupted network services. The outage was brief and network services are coming back online in those buildings. We are working to verify all equipment successfully came back online in all affected buildings. Thank you

All Truman WordPress sites will be updated at approximately 8:00 p.m. during tonight's maintenance window. This includes all personal and organization sites using WordPress, blogs.truman.edu, wp-internal.truman.edu, tmn.truman.edu, and www.truman.edu.

At approximately 11:05am, the Blackboard database server became unresponsive to network requests until 11:20am. Blackboard services were unavailable during this time. We are reviewing logs and researching for the source of the issue. All Blackboard services should now be available.

Banner services were unavailble from the normal shutdown for backups time of 4:00am until approximately 7:45am due to issues with our automated backup system. We researching the issues with the backup system to try to avoid this happening again.

All Banner services should now be available.

The Banner database shutdown unexpectedly at approximately 10:43am was services were restored by 10:57am. All Banner services should now be available. 

All Truman WordPress sites will be updated at approximately 8:00 p.m. during tonight's maintenance window. This includes all personal and organization sites using WordPress, blogs.truman.edu, wp-internal.truman.edu, tmn.truman.edu, and www.truman.edu.

Blackboard services were unavailable from 5:00am to approximately 7:50am due to a residual piece of yesterday's upgrade. Services are now available. 

UPDATE: Upgrade is complete. All Blackboard servers are now available.

The Blackboard Learn course management system is scheduled for upgrade on Tuesday, May 17th with Blackboard services being unavailable beginning at 4am. It will be upgraded to the latest stable, tested service pack: Blackboard 3900.32 Release. As always, we will do our best to minimize the downtime of this critical system. For planning purposes, please plan for Blackboard to be unavailable for the morning.

All Truman WordPress sites will be updated at approximately 8:00 p.m. during tonight's maintenance window. This includes all personal and organization sites using WordPress, blogs.truman.edu, wp-internal.truman.edu, tmn.truman.edu, and www.truman.edu.

Truman's primary internet connection will be unavailable starting at 12 am 3/25/22 while our service provider performs necessary maintenance 

Services and internet traffic will automatically route via a redundant circuit, but overall connection speeds may be degraded

The estimated time of completion is 12:30 am 3/25/22

*UPDATE* - As of 4:30 am, maintenance has been completed.  Service for Faculty/Staff email has been restored.  We apologize for any inconvenience,and thank you for your patience.

At apromiately 3:30 am tomorrow morning, ITS will be performing maintenance on the Faculty/Staff Email servers.  This maintenance will take around 1 hour, and services may be unavailable during this time.  All services should be back online no later than 5:00 am.  We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your patience.

At approximately 8:00 PM on Thursday the 24th, ITS will be performing maintenance on the Faculty/Staff Email system. During this time, Faculty/Staff Email services may be affected, Maintenance is not anticipated to extend past 9:00 PM. An update will be posted when maintenance has been completed, and services are back online.

Banner Upgrade

The Banner system is scheduled for a major upgrade on Sunday, February 20th.  Banner and all Banner integrated, dependent services including the Banner links in Tools in TruView will be unavailable starting at 4am Sunday morning, February 20th, and will remain down until the completion of the upgrade. Please plan for Banner services to be unavailable all day.  

This Service Note will be updated to announce services are available upon completion of the upgrade.

The TruView vendor will be performing maintenance on their systems impacting our TruView portal. Maintenance is scheduled to begin at 12:00am (midnight) on the morning of Monday, February 14th.

Up to 10 minutes of downtime is expected. 

At approximately, 2:05pm today we received an alert that services were unavailable which provide the mechanism for logging into a number of campus services. Services have been restarted that had failed and all services should have been available by approximately 2:25pm. We are researching the source of this issue. 

*UPDATE* The maintenance on the Faculty/Staff Email servers has been completed, and service has been restored.

ITS will be performing maintenance on the Faculty/Staff email servers from 3:30 -5:00 am on Friday, February 4th, 2022.  Email service may be down for part or all this time, and should be back online by 5:00 am.  An update will be posted once maintenance has been completed, and service has been restored.

The vendor was able to find the missed configuration update needed. Tools are now working in TruView.

Currently links to Tools from the Tools section in TruView are bringing up Announcements in TruView instead of the needed Tools page. We believe this to be a residual issue post maintenance work on TruView from last evening. We are working with our vendor on resolution. Shortcuts and Pages are working if you can determine how to navigate to the link you need via Pages.

***Update*** - Socket believes they have resolved their call routing issue and that phone services should be functioning properly now. We've performed several tests on our side to confirm calls are working properly, but if you continue to have problems, please report them to the help desk so that we can further investigate. 

At approximately 8:30 am today, ITS was made aware of an issue with the Truman Campus Phone service.  The Telephony provider, Socket, identified an issue with routing that is disrupting service and is actively working to resolve the problem. No Estimated Time to Resolution has been given at this time.  An update will be posted when the service has been restored.  We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
