***UPDATE*** 5/19/21 8:45 am: Phone service has been restored. Our provider determined maintenance that they performed last night caused the issue. If a Polycom phone is still showing "Time/Date out of sync", please hold buttons 1, 3, and 0 simultaneously to reboot the phone. Once the phone comes back up, the time and date should be correct. If you have any further phone issues related to this service note, please contact phones@truman.edu Service Note 5/19/21 6:30 am: Phone service on campus is currently down. Polycom phones show "URL calling disabled" and "Time/Date out of sync" on the display. Analog phones state "Device not registered with your service provider". Our provider has been contacted to troubleshoot the issue and this post will be updated when more information is available. |

We will be completing required maintenance on the server that runs the virtual environment for both the Banner database server and the DegreeWorks database and application server. This is scheduled for Monday, May 17th, starting at 6pm. Banner and Banner integrated services and DegreeWorks will be unavailable during this window. It is estimated that it should take 2 to 2 ½ hours to complete this update.

Blackboard maintenance is complete and all Blackboard services are available. ------------------- On Tuesday, May 18, starting at 7:00am Blackboard services will be unavailable while we complete system maintenance. We will be adding disk space for the Blackboard System. Please plan for this to take 1 to 1 ½ hour or so.

Truman email is no longer being blocked by Microsoft for Hotmail, Outlook.com, Live, MSN, etc. email addresses. ---------------------------------------------- Truman email to hotmail.com, outlook.com, msn.com, live.com, and other related addresses is being blocked by Microsoft. This is due to a Truman account that was compromised last week and used by a spammer to send lots of mail to Hotmail.com addresses. We went through the process to get Truman unblocked and now have to wait for Microsoft to agree to unblock us. In the meantime, if you have an alternate email address you may want to use it to send any necessary email or check with your recipient to see if they have a non-Microsoft account you can send to. |

***UPDATE***: There were lingering issues that continued to affect some of our phone services last night. These issues were resolved at approximately 2 am. If you continue to have any problems, please contact IT Services. Our telephone provider is currently investigating a network event that temporarily caused the loss of phone service on campus around 4 pm. The service appears to be working properly currently but we'll continue to monitor the situation and update this note once further information is available. |

Banner upgrade is complete and all services should now be available. --- The Banner system is scheduled for a major upgrade this Sunday, February 28th. Banner and all Banner integrated, dependent services including the Banner links in TruView and Campus Portal will be unavailable starting at 4am Sunday morning, February 28th, and will remain down until the completion of the upgrade. Please plan for Banner services to be unavailable all day.

An update is needed for the Ivanti Agents on computers. This update will take place starting 1/6/21. Users will need to reboot their computers after the upgrade at their earliest convenience. You will be able to postpone the restart up to 8 days if needed.

Update: The issue with the Blackboard link/button not working in TruView has been resolved. ------------ The Blackboard link/button in TruView is currently returning a ‘Not Found’ error. We suspect it may be a post upgrade related issue. Until we resolve this issue, please use the direct method of accessing Blackboard by either clicking on this link: https://blackboard.truman.edu/ or typing the url ‘https://blackboard.truman.edu’ into your browser of choice. We appreciate your patience as we work to maintain the University systems.

We believe we have resolved the post upgrade issues with DegreeWorks. Services are available. ------- Update: DegreeWorks services continue to not be reliable and consistently functioning following the upgrade. We continue to work with Ellucian support. This is a high priority issue and we will resovle it as quickly as possible. ------- DegreeWorks will be unavailable on Tuesday, December 29th, to complete a required upgrade. The Service Note will be updated when the upgrade is complete. Please plan for the system to be unvailable for the day. |

Blackboard Upgrade Update: The Blackboard upgrade is complete and services are available. ----- Blackboard Upgrade The upgrade will begin with the normal 4am shutdown of the system for backups on Monday, December 28. Campus should plan for the Blackboard system to be unavailable for the whole day. The database upgrade, application upgrade, and addition of disk space will all take some time to complete. We will update the Service Note when the system is available. We appreciate your patience as we work to keep this critical system up-to-date. |
