All Truman WordPress sites will be updated at approximately 8:00 p.m. during tonight's maintenance window. This includes all personal and organization sites using WordPress, blogs.truman.edu, wp-internal.truman.edu, tmn.truman.edu, and www.truman.edu.

*Friday Update*  We have now corrected the printing problem on many PCs, and have printing solutions for Macs.  Truman owned Macs we can fix, student owned Macs can print with the View system or the eop.truman.edu web page.  We are continuing to work on restoring printing services to the remaining computers as quickly as possible.  If you are experiencing printing issues and have not already contacted the IT Service Center at x4544 please contact us to let us know.

*3rd UPDATE*  The printing outages were caused by Microsoft's recent Windows updates.  Windows 10 PCs need updated to release level 21H1.  We are updating Truman PCs as quickly as possible.  The Pcounter Release Stations were fixed on Saturday.  Mac systems are having difficulty connecting to the Windows print servers, we are workig on the problem.  Students who use Macs can go to http://eop.truman.edu, upload the document to print, and print that way.

*2nd UPDATE*  ITS has deteremined that the printing issue appears to be on individual PCs, and not on the Truman Print Servers.  ITS is working on solutions, and will keep you updated as to when the issue is resolved.  We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your continued patience and understanding.

*UPDATE*  This issue is affecting both Faculty/Staff, and Students, campus wide.  ITS is looking into the issue and will update when resolved.

An issue with printing for Faculty and Staff was reported at 8:30 am today.  ITS is investigating the issue.  We will post an update when services are restored.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience while we work to resolve this issue.

The Banner job submission server needs maintenance. The system will be taken down starting at 9:00pm on Sunday, September 12, 2021. The estimated downtime is approximately 30 minutes.

*UPDATE* - Power was restored to the Missouri Hall North network equipment at approximately 11:50 am, restoring both wired and wireless network connectivity.  ITS apologizes for any inconvenince and thanks you for your patience.

On July 22nd, survey.truman.edu will not be available starting at 6 a.m. while  upgrading the system from version 6 to version 7.  The survey tool will remain down until the completion of the upgrade, and users should plan for the survey tool to be unavailable all day.

We were able to resolve the Banner users issues and believe all services are now working as expected

Following some network infrastructure issues this morning, we have a number of Banner users that cannot use Banner. We are working on this now and hope to restore full access as quickly as we can. We'll update this service note when we have more information.

At approximately 11:45 AM this morning, ITS was made aware of a number of network servers that were offline due to an issue with Truman's Virtual netowrk.  This outage  included services to the Network Fileserver, Network Authenticaion, and www.truman.edu, as well as other.  The cause was identified by ITS, resolved around 12:10 PM.

We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your patience.

Update: Banner upgrade is complete and services are now available

Banner Upgrade

The Banner system is scheduled for a major upgrade on Monday, July 5th.  Banner and all Banner integrated, dependent services including the Banner links in TruView and Truman Portal will be unavailable starting at 4am Monday morning, July 5th, and will remain down until the completion of the upgrade. Please plan for Banner services to be unavailable all day.  

A Service Note will be posted to announce services are available upon completion of the upgrade.

***Update*** - This maintenance is complete

Server maintenance will be performed tonight after 8 pm to resolve some recent connectivity issues but isn't expected to negatively impact services. 

Update: All services disrupted by this morning's network infrastructure related issues should be available now.

We are currently experiencing service disruption issues with a number of systems. We are working to identify the source of the issue(s) and will resolve them as soon as possible.

Systems with issues include: Banner, TruView, DegreeWorks, TimeClockPlus, and multiple Web Sites.

***Update*** - The phone gateways have been replaced and service has been restored to the devices/users that were affected. 

A small number of phone lines on campus are currently down due to a hardware failure. Services will be restored later today when our provider replaces the equipment. This note will be updated once an estimated time of repair is available and once services have been restored.

Tonight, during the regularly scheduled maintenance window, virtual desktops will be briefly unavailable. Existing sessions will not be affected and only new sessions will be unavailable momentarily.

All services that failed overnight and again approximately 11:30 this morning have been restored again. Updates have been made to hopefully prevent additional failures.

All production services that were down this morning due to the overnight system are currently down again. The list includes TruView, Banner Self Service, TouchNet U.Commerce integration (student bill payment, etc.), and some WordPress sites. 

This is a continuing problem and we are working on it.

Maintenance is complete and Banner and Banner integrated services are now available.

Banner database server system maintenance

We will be completing required maintenance on the server that runs the Banner database software. This is scheduled for Friday, June 4th, starting at 3pm.

Banner and Banner integrated services will be unavailable during this window. It is estimated taht it should take 2 to 2 1/2 hours to complete this upgrate.

We will be doing a quick restart of the server running DegreeWorks as part of required maintenance to the system. The first restart will be around 1:30pm today. The second restarted is tentatively planned for the end of the day - between 5 and 6 - provided all goes well with the updates. Each outage should be no more than 15 minutes.

TruView services were unavailable following a system issue. Services have been restored.

***UPDATE*** 5/19/21 8:45 am: Phone service has been restored. Our provider determined maintenance that they performed last night caused the issue. If a Polycom phone is still showing "Time/Date out of sync", please hold buttons 1, 3, and 0 simultaneously to reboot the phone. Once the phone comes back up, the time and date should be correct. If you have any further phone issues related to this service note, please contact phones@truman.edu

Service Note 5/19/21 6:30 am: Phone service on campus is currently down. Polycom phones show "URL calling disabled" and "Time/Date out of sync" on the display. Analog phones state "Device not registered with your service provider". Our provider has been contacted to troubleshoot the issue and this post will be updated when more information is available.

We will be completing required maintenance on the server that runs the virtual environment for both the Banner database server and the DegreeWorks database and application server. This is scheduled for Monday, May 17th, starting at 6pm.

Banner and Banner integrated services and DegreeWorks will be unavailable during this window. It is estimated that it should take 2 to 2 ½ hours to complete this update.

 

 

Blackboard maintenance is complete and all Blackboard services are available.

On Tuesday, May 18, starting at 7:00am Blackboard services will be unavailable while we complete system maintenance. We will be adding disk space for the Blackboard System. Please plan for this to take 1 to 1 ½ hour or so.
