10/27/2006 Friday night during the regularly scheduled IT maintenance window
maintenance will be performed on the email router. Exchange and TruView mail services will be unaffected, however there is a possibility that e-mail to and from the Internet will be unavailable for 30-45 minutes. No email will be lost, emails will be queued and delivered when the server restarts.
10/20/2006 A server application update is to be applied to the Student organization web server (Neon) around 8:00 pm. today, October 19th, during the regularly scheduled maintenance window. The web service on the server will be offline for about 10 minutes.
10/18/2006 The Kirk Memorial webcam is currently down due to construction work on the building. We will re-activate the webcam as soon as possible, but it may be some time before the construction work is completed.
10/16/2006 Student classroom and lab printing has been restored for all locations.
10/13/2006 The wireless network will be temporarily unavailable tonight at 11 p.m. during the ITS maintenance window. This maintenance period is expected to last no more then fifteen minutes.
10/13/2006 The problem with slow email service to and from the Internet has been resolved and all queued email has been processed. All Truman email services are back to normal.
10/13/2006 Truman experienced a flood of email messages this morning that contained a suspicious attachment. The message indicates that it is regarding a recent online order from Dell or BestBuy. The message contains a .zip attachment which includes an .exe file. Do not open the attachment or execute the file within the zip folder as it appears to contain a possible downloader/trojan file. As this appears to be a new threat, most antivirus companies do not yet have software to detect this file. We are working with our antivirus vendors to obtain updated DATs that should properly detect the files. As always, do not open any attachments unless you are expecting them. If you believe you may have opened the attachment and executed the file, please contact the Help Desk at x4544 for assistance.
10/10/2006 Network services are currently unavailable in Brewer, Blanton and Nason Halls due to electrical power issues in the building. Physical Plant is working on restoring electrical power.
10/10/2006 The file server maintenance ran longer than normal last night. Network drives such as W: and Y: were unavailable until 7:57 am. We're checking to determine why the maintenance process took longer than normal.
10/09/2006 The problem with slow email service to and from the Internet has been resolved and all queued email has been processed. All Truman email services are back to normal.
10/06/2006 A programming enhancement software is to be applied to the Student organization web server (Neon) around 9:00 pm. on Friday, October 6th, during the regularly scheduled maintenance window. The web service on the server will be offline for about 10 minutes.
09/29/2006 Banner ADMIN had to be shutdown and restarted around 5:45pm this evening to correct a problem with a finance feed table. The Banner system was down approximately 3 minutes.
09/28/2006 Cable TV is back up. Electrical power has been restored in the Student Union Building.
09/27/2006 The electrical power outage in the Student Union Building was corrected last night and full network services (including Wireless) are back up.
09/25/2006 Cable TV services have been restored.
09/23/2006 The Banner Maintenance to apply Oracle upgrade 9.2.0.6 is now complete. The system was down for maintenance longer than expected. The complete downtime was 8pm, on 9/22/2006, to 2:30am, on 9/23/2006.
09/21/2006 The student organization webserver (neon) will be restarted at approximately midnight on 9/21/2006. This is during the monthly scheduled ITS Maintenance Window.
09/21/2006 Lab printing was restored at approximately 11 p.m. There was an apparent error with the print accounting software. Services were stopped and restarted to restore printing. Further examination is necessary to establish the cause of the problem.
09/21/2006 ITS was notified at approximately 10:30 p.m. that labs in Pickler Memorial Library and Violette Hall were not printing. We are looking into this issue.
09/21/2006 During routine maintenance on the student organization server, in preparation for a reboot during the server maintenance window Thursday evening, a service stalled, forcing the Web Team to reboot the system at approximately 4pm on Wednesday (9/20/06).
09/01/2006 The ~ 10 minute Internet outage at ~ 9:30 was due to a failure in MOREnet's Kansas City distribution center. Internet service is back up and we have an open ticket with MOREnet on the incident.
08/31/2006 **UPDATE**
Firefox has been corrected and the issue with opening attachments in TruView on lab/classroom systems has now been resolved.

ITS is working to correct an issue with opening attachments in TruView when customers are using Firefox on the Lab/Classroom systems. There is not an issue if using Internet Explorer. ITS has identified the corrective action and we are testing the fix action before deploying it to the Lab/Classroom systems.

08/28/2006 The links off the Student, Employee, and Faculty tabs in TruView were not working from approximately 4:00 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. on 8/28/2006. A scheduled restart of service did not complete successfully. The script has been modified to prevent future problems and all services were restored at about 7:45 a.m.
08/23/2006 The problem with some areas of the expanded wireless network not functioning properly has been corrected.
08/21/2006 Network Services have been restored to Campbell Apartments. Building renovation is still in progress, but the Campbell Apartments computer network is back up.
