Date Description
02/23/2007 TruView and the Streaming Server will both be down for maintenance at about 10:00 p.m. on 2/23/2007. We will be installing operating system updates, including the ones necessary for the 2007 Daylight Savings Time changes. This maintenance is being done during the weekly scheduled maintenance window.
02/22/2007 In 2005, the United States government passed the Energy Policy Act of 2005, which changes the start and end dates for Daylight Saving Time (DST) in spring 2007.

This may impact your Outlook Calendar appointments between March 11 and April 1. Microsoft is furiously scrambling to patch its products to properly handle these changes. ITS currently has no assurances to how smoothly this will happen. There is a possibility your appointments in this time period will shift an hour from when you recorded them.

To protect your sanity in the face of potential disaster, we recommend you include the starting time in the subject line of all your Outlook appointments between Mar 11 and April 1. That way, in case there is a problem, it can be manually corrected with less hassle.

We are working with Microsoft and will share more news with you as we receive it. If you have any questions, please call the Help Desk at x4544.

02/17/2007 There was a problem with several Truman web services early Saturday morning. The problem was resolved and all Truman web pages are back up. We are investigating to determine the cause.
02/19/2007 Exchange server was successfully upgraded with patches. Services were restored shortly before 9:30 p.m.
02/18/2007 Exchange will be down for maintenance during the weekly scheduled maintenance window.
The weekly maintenance window allows ITS the right to take servers and network equipment down for maintenance or repair every Friday night from 9:00PM to Noon the following day.
02/09/2007 TruView will be down for maintenance at approximately 10:30 p.m. on 2/9/2007. This is during the weekly scheduled maintenance window.
02/02/2007 The brief loss of the Internet was caused by a problem with a MOREnet router in Kansas City. The router rebooted, temporarily disrupting Internet service for many sites.
01/31/2007 TruView is currently experiencing some issues which began at about 10:45. We hope to have everything back up soon.

UPDATE: TruView service was restored at 10:53. The cause of the problem is still being investigated.

01/26/2007 During the regularly scheduled maintenance window on 1/26/2007, the administrative web server may be unavailable for short periods beginning at 9:00 p.m. The main Truman website and many departmental and division website may be affected, as well as some content on the TruView portal.
01/28/2007 MOREnet will transfer its backbone to new high-capacity gigabit backbone links on Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007, beginning at midnight. The upgrade is expected to be complete by 2 a.m. Transferring each backbone segment should take no longer than 10 minutes. As the routing is moved, backup paths should maintain connectivity, but customers may experience short outages.
01/25/2007 Network services were briefly unavailable to a portion of Barnett Hall this morning due to electrical construction. Network services have been restored.
01/23/2007 Some Truman websites hosted on the departmental webserver may be unavailable for brief, sporadic periods throughout the day. This will not affect access to other, non-Truman websites. The problem has been traced to a potential driver problem with one of our webservers.

We have taken steps to minimize downtime until the problem can be corrected. After testing, we have determined the outages may average 3 minutes long, once an hour.

We will continue to monitor the situation and post more info as it becomes available.

01/22/2007 Many Truman websites were unavailable from 9:50am to 10:20am today due to an unforeseen error while adding services to the server. Access has been restored and the sites are functioning normally.
01/17/2007 Network services to Pershing building have been restored.
01/20/2007 Several Cable TV channels currently have a fuzzy picture (channels 6, 9, 10 and 12). The problem is the receiving antennas are encased in heavy ice. We will try to restore normal picture quality as soon as possible but the picture quality may not return to normal until the ice melts.
01/12/2007 After the server reboot, web services are now functioning normally.
01/12/2007 After the server reboot, web services are now functioning normally.
