01/20/2008 | Network W: Drive Changes for Academic Reorganization
January 3, 2008 Truman W: drives are a file storage area provided by a Truman file server that allows people in the same work group to store and share files. On Windows based computers a W: drive is automatically provided. Mac and Linux users may also use W: drives, but they have to manually connect. Currently, academic W: drives are in a transitional structure based on the Schools structure (see ITS service note from August 9th for full details). The transition period for W: drives was August 11th through January 6th 2008. On January 6th the new academic department W: drives will be activated. Note: After January 6th the old divisional based W: drive areas will no longer be listed. However the files from the old divisional W: drive areas will be kept until the end of the Spring Semester. If you need a file restored from the old divisional W: drive area ITS will restore it for you. ITS will make every effort to help make the required changes as smooth as possible. If you have any questions or require assistance on any IT related topic please remember we are here to help. Call x4544 or come by the ITS HelpDesk so we can assist you. Thank you. |
