7-19-2023 Update, this issue has been resolved
5-30-2023 Update, we are continuing to have intermittent issues accessing the Internet. Technicians and contractors worked on the problem through the long weekend but problems persist. We are pulling in additional resources to work on the issue. ---------- We are working on a network upgrade, during this time Internet access may be slower than normal or the Internet may occasionally be unavailable. There have been reports that some campus emails are not being received by the recipient. Even when checking their email client Junk/Spam Mail filter on their device, the emails are not found. Please take note that the campus does have a Campus Spam Filter, called Barracuda, that monitors all incoming emails for faculty and staff. Although working properly, it appears to be detecting more emails as spam due to the structure and nature of the email content. You can configure your preferences and level of email to filter in this system by visiting https://barracuda.truman.edu. If an email has been stopped you have the ability to Whitelist, Deliver, or Delete the email. The link does require you to log in using your Truman Username and Password. Please make sure to check your filter preferences and how frequently Barracuda notifies you when messages are quarantined. The Network Team made an adjustment to this today, 4/5/2023, and it should now send a daily notification to everyone regarding any quarantined emails (if you had previously customized this setting you need to do so again). If you notice you are still not receiving these emails after today, please let us know. At approximately 10:00 am today, the Truman State University campus experienced a power outage that caused several buildings to go offline. Power was restored to the campus within a few seconds, but some equipment need to power back up. Services were restored for most of the offline equipment around 10:20 am. Update: Banner upgrade is complete and all services are now available ---- Banner upgrade scheduled for Sunday, February 26th - services will be unavailable starting at 4am Banner Upgrade The Banner system is scheduled for a major upgrade on Sunday, February 26th. Banner and all Banner integrated, dependent services including the Banner links (Tools) in TruView will be unavailable starting at 4am Sunday morning, February 26th, and will remain down until the completion of the upgrade. Please plan for Banner services to be unavailable all day. A Service Note will be posted to announce services are available upon completion of the upgrade. Note: Blackboard services will not be impacted by the Banner upgrade and will be available as usual.

There is an ongoing issue with Microsoft Office and Printing in Windows 10 Truman computers across campus. If you are experiencing MS Office locking up, shutting down, and failure to print; please either contact the IT Service Center at 660-785-4544, or self-submit a ticket at https://otrs.truman.edu/otrs/customer.pl with your Device/Computer Name (find that by typing ‘about’ in the search bar and opening the, “About your PC”) and a good contact number. Services for sendfile.truman.edu are now available again. We ran into issues with the upgrade and had to revert back to the original server. Once we've resolved the new issues, we will reschedule this upgrade. ---- The sendfile.truman.edu service is scheduled for upgrade and server migration on Thursday, January 12th, at 7:30am. Services will be down to complete the final migration to the new server. An update to this Service Note will be sent out when services are available. Please note: All files that have not been picked up by 7:30am on Thursday, January 12th, will need to be re-sent following the successful migration to the new server and upgraded application. Over the winter break, our phone provider Socket Telecom migrated our phones to a new platform. This appears to be causing significant issues with incoming calls and voicemails. We are working with their team to correct these problems and will update this service note once we have additional information. Update (1/4/23) - Socket will have a technician on site today to replace phones that are not registering on the new system properly. Their engineers are working on the call routing issue caused by the migration but have not provided an estimated time of repair. Update (1/5/23) - We're still working with the vendor to resolve this issue. It's likely they will need to migrate our lines back to the old platform and that will take several hours to complete. We should know more by 10:30 am Update (1/5/23) - Socket will begin a rollback to the old platform process by noon today. |

UPDATE: Blackboard maintenance is complete. All Blackboard services are available. ---- Blackboard maintenance is scheduled to begin at 8am on Thursday, December 22nd, to complete a required update. All Blackboard services will be unavailable during this upgrade. For planning purposes, please plan for two hours of downtime. If all goes well is should not take that long.

*FINAL UPDATE* As of 1:00 am today, ITS has completed the migration of the Truman File Server. All network drives (Student Y Drives, FAC/STAFF W Drives, etc) have been migrated to the new server, and are online and accessible. The only noticable change might be a slightly longer time accessing a network drive for the first time. This is only for the first time, and all drives should open as normal afterwards. If you have any other issues with accessing your network drives, please contact the IT Service Center at 660-785-4544, and they will be able to assist you. We apologize for the inconvenience, and thank you for your patience.
*IMPORTANT UPDATE* - As part of the process for migrating the Truman Fileserver, some of the drives (Student Y Drives, FAC/STAFF W Drives, etc) may become online. ITS wants to be clear that if this occurs, PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ACCESS THEM! Any attempt to access these network drives may interfere with the migration process, and will likely result in lost data. ITS will update everyone when the migration has been completed, and you can resume accessing your drives. We apologize for any confusion, and thank you for your patience.
Beginning at 8:00 am December 27th, the Truman Network File Server will be inaccessible while we migrate the files to a new server. This will affect all network folders, including faculty, staff, and students, such as the W and Y drives. The maintenance should be completed by 5:00 pm on Dec 29th. |

Banner Upgrade UPDATE: Upgrade is complete and all services are now available ------- The Banner system is scheduled for a major upgrade on Sunday, December 11th, in order to applied end of year regulatory updates. Banner and all Banner integrated, dependent services including the Banner links in TruView and Truman Portal will be unavailable starting at 4am Sunday morning, December 11th, and will remain down until the completion of the upgrade. If all goes well, we expect to have Banner services restored by approximately 9:00am. A Service Note will be posted to announce services are available upon completion of the upgrade. Note: Blackboard services will not be impacted by the Banner upgrade and will be available as usual.

We've resolved the issues with the EMS and emspro systems and all services should be available. ---- We are currently experiencing issues with the EMS and emspro room reservation and room management systems. We are still researching to identified the source of the issue. We will provide an update when we have more information. |
