| 03/03/2011 | The Panopto CourseCast Server is back up following a restart to clear an error with domain name registration. We appreciate your patience during this service interruption and we apologize for any inconvenience caused. (Please note our original report of the system being unavailable was at 8:45 rather than 8:05.) The system was back by 9am. ------- At 8:05 this morning, it was observed that the Panopto CourseCast server was unavailable for recording log-in or video playback. Technicians are investigating now and we will update this note as soon as information is available. |
| 02/23/2011 | The University MySQL database server and the UNIX Personal Web server were unavailable for approximately 10 minutes due to a failed disk drive. Full service has now been restored. |
| 02/22/2011 | Self-Service Banner, including Banner links in TruView, were unavailable this morning following restart issues - services were restored at approximately 8:15am. |
| 02/18/2011 | Individuals running the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system may have issues connecting to the virtual desktops after recent Microsoft security patches were installed.
Our virtual desktop vendor is aware of these issues and has released an updated software client. If you are experiencing these issues please update to the latest version of the VMWare View Client from our website: https://secure.truman.edu/its-s/viewclient/ |

| 02/14/2011 | The Pickler Library 312 computer lab has limited computers available due to water damage. Some computer stations are available for use but not as many computers as normal. Additional computers may have to be shutdown later if the water leaks continue. |

| 01/24/2011 | On Saturday, Jan. 22nd, Student Printing Services experienced an unplanned outage due to an issue with the Server that handles Student Printing campus wide. this caused issues with being able to print to the Res Hall and the Lab printers. This issue has been identified and resolved, and as of 8:30 this morning, printing was restored. We apologize for any inconvenience. If you have any further issues with printing, please contact the ITS Service Center at 660-785-4544.

| 01/15/2011 | Prior to the introduction of the WSUS server, Windows PCs would have to download updates from Microsoft and ITS had little control over how they were delivered and installed. Since updates are now hosted from within Truman's network, this should save bandwidth and result in faster update installation. Also, we now have the ability to control who gets which updates; for instance some users need Internet Explorer 7 instead of 8, we can now prevent those machines from installing version 8. The introduction of the WSUS server will result in Windows systems being kept more up to date with the latest security and bug fixes. You should expect to see Windows asking you to reboot when a new update is released. |

| 01/10/2011 | We will be upgrading our installation of Panopto Course Cast this afternoon to provide better resolution of issues experienced following our recent upgrade of Blackboard.
During the upgrade, the Panopto server will be unavailable for approximately 30 minutes. Recording even in "offline" mode will not be available during this window as users will be unable to log in till after the upgrade. An update will be posted following the upgrade and normal functionality is expected to be reinstated by 6pm tonight. |
| 01/12/2011 | Update - the Panopto upgrade was completed at 5:30pm Monday evening. Initial testing indicates all expected functionality has been restored and interoperability with Blackboard is once again working.
The user interface, including items such as log-in screens, buttons, etc. may have changed during this upgrade, so please allow just a few extra minutes to familiarize yourself with these updates when you first log into the system. All previously recorded content is still available in its original location. Previously provisioned courses are still provisioned. New spring courses into which you have not previously recorded will need to be provisioned as normal. | 01/10/2011 | On Friday, ITS reported issues with our Blackboard/Panopto CourseCast (also called "lecture capture") system. We have been working with Panopto to resolve those issues.
This morning, several functions are still unavailable from within Blackboard - listing of available recordings, course provisioning, etc. Recording to previously provisioned courses is currently working; however those recordings aren't yet listing into Blackboard. We will update you as we continue to make progress with this issue. |

MOREnet technicians will be performing maintenance on equipment in Kansas City, Springfield, and St. Louis on Sunday, January 9 between 12:01 a.m. and 6a.m. All members in these areas will experience an outage of approximately 30 minutes during this time frame. During this time the University internet connection may be unavailable. We apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you for your patience. |
