01/12/2011 Update - the Panopto upgrade was completed at 5:30pm Monday evening. Initial testing indicates all expected functionality has been restored and interoperability with Blackboard is once again working.

The user interface, including items such as log-in screens, buttons, etc. may have changed during this upgrade, so please allow just a few extra minutes to familiarize yourself with these updates when you first log into the system.

All previously recorded content is still available in its original location. Previously provisioned courses are still provisioned. New spring courses into which you have not previously recorded will need to be provisioned as normal.

We will be upgrading our installation of Panopto Course Cast this afternoon to provide better resolution of issues experienced following our recent upgrade of Blackboard.

During the upgrade, the Panopto server will be unavailable for approximately 30 minutes. Recording even in "offline" mode will not be available during this window as users will be unable to log in till after the upgrade.

An update will be posted following the upgrade and normal functionality is expected to be reinstated by 6pm tonight.

01/10/2011 On Friday, ITS reported issues with our Blackboard/Panopto CourseCast (also called "lecture capture") system. We have been working with Panopto to resolve those issues.

This morning, several functions are still unavailable from within Blackboard - listing of available recordings, course provisioning, etc.

Recording to previously provisioned courses is currently working; however those recordings aren't yet listing into Blackboard.

We will update you as we continue to make progress with this issue.

01/07/2011 There is a problem with the lecture capture video system on Blackboard. We have contacted the vendor, normal services will be restored as soon as possible.
01/09/2011 We have received the following notice from our ISP, MORENet, regarding our internet connection:

MOREnet technicians will be performing maintenance on equipment in Kansas City, Springfield, and St. Louis on Sunday, January 9 between 12:01 a.m. and 6a.m. All members in these areas will experience an outage of approximately 30 minutes during this time frame.

During this time the University internet connection may be unavailable. We apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you for your patience.

12/21/2010 As of 3:30 pm today, Student printing campus-wide should be restored. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, and thank you for your patience.
12/20/2010 On Monday, Dec. 20th, starting at 11:00 am, student printing will be unavailable during scheduled server maintenance. This maintenance should last approximately 1 hour, and will affect student printing campus wide. Faculty/Staff printing will not be affected during this time. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
12/16/2010 Banner form services were unavailable this morning due to a restart issue - services were restored at approximately 8:05am.
12/16/2010 Self-Service Banner, including Banner links in TruView, were unavailable this morning following restart issues - services were restored at approximately 8:00am.
12/13/2010 There was an issue this morning with printing from Banner. This outage occurred from 10:04 am until 10:52 am. This outage effected printing from Banner to all campus printers. the issue was resolved as of 10:52 am, and printing services were restored. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.
12/09/2010 We have received the following notice from our ISP, MORENet, regarding our internet connection:

Missouri Network Alliance technicians will be performing maintenance on equipment in the Kansas City area on Wednesday, December 8 and Thursday, December 9, between 12:01 a.m. and 6a.m. A 10 minute to 6 hour outage may be experienced.

During this time the University internet connection may be unavailable. We apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you for your patience.

12/03/2010 Banner was unavailable from approx. 11:45am to 11:55am. A nightly backup process failed to complete cleanly and was degrading performance. All services are available as of 11:55am.
11/29/2010 TruView will be restarted at 10:30AM on Monday, November 29 in order to integrate the newly upgraded DegreeWorks. The restart is expected to take about 5 minutes.
11/29/2010 Blackboard services have been restored. The issue was the Blackboard database archiver was out of space and this was resolved.
12/03/2010 The Internet upgrade is complete.

Since early in the semester, ITS has been pursuing options for providing faster Internet access. We have successfully increased our Internet service 150% from 100Mbps to 250Mbps. This increase will improve the quality of all Internet activities used by Truman students, faculty and staff.

11/26/2010 Since early in the semester, ITS has been pursuing options for providing faster Internet access. We are pleased to announce we have successfully negotiated a 150% increase in Internet service from 100Mbps to 250Mbps. This increase will improve the quality of all Internet activities used by Truman students, faculty and staff.

The order for faster Internet has been placed! It will take a few days for the order to be processed and our Internet service upgraded but we expect to have the upgrade fully completed when everyone returns from Thanksgiving break. We will let you know when everything is complete.

11/18/2010 At approximately 8:15 am this morning, a software issue on the Server (\\TP1) that handles the Student Printing necessitated a reboot of \\TP1. Student Printing services were down from approximately 8:35 until approximately 8:45. All printing services should be back online and functioning. If you have any issue with printing or with your Student Printing Account, please contact the ITS Service Center at 660-785-4544. We apologize for any inconvenience, and appreciate your patience and understanding.
11/17/2010 An issue was preventing the University Lecture Capture System (Panopto) from processing new recorded sessions. ITS has worked with the vendor to correct this problem and all currently queued sessions are now being processed. When this processing is complete all recent sessions should be available. Please contact the IT Service Center at x4544 if you have any questions.
11/16/2010 At approximately 2:57 PM today, the Student Print Server \\TP1 experienced a system lockup and needed to be shutdown, temporarily interrupting student printing. this server was successfully rebooted and was back online as of 3:10 PM today. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
11/12/2010 As of 6:33 PM, the Faculty/Staff email is back online and functioning correctly. Everyone should be receiving new emails, as well as emails sent received during the maintenance outage. If you have any issues with sending or receiving emails, please contact the ITS Service x4544.

11/12/2010 The faculty/staff email system will be temporarily unavailable at 6:00PM for emergency maintenance. Full email service will be restored by 6:15PM. During this time messages will be queued and delivered when the system is again available. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
11/29/2010 We received a software fix from the vendor to correct the USB flash drive problem in the computer labs. We are now installing the solution on all 700+ lab PCs (this may take several days). When all systems have been updated USB flash drives should work in the computer labs.
11/08/2010 Student network accounts were changed to no longer use a Windows Active Directory mandatory profile. This change was necessary to address an intermittent problem with student logons in the computer labs. Student logon times in the computer labs should now be significantly faster.
11/02/2010 Update: Internet services are now back online. MORENet experienced a fiber cut on a provider network. The University is currently being routed on an alternate path. Service was restored at 7:15PM.

Original Service Note:
The University's internet service provider, MORENet, is currently experiencing an outage. Due to this outage the University’s internet connection is offline. This outage started at 6:09PM. We've notified MORENet and they are currently working on the issue. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

11/01/2010 Several Truman web sites experienced problems early this morning due to a server problem. The problem are being addressed and services restored.
10/17/2010 Self-Service Banner, including Banner links in TruView, were unavailable - services were restored at approximately 2:15pm.
