03/24/2011 We lost Internet access for approximately two minutes at 1 PM. Normal Internet access has since been restored. We are contacting MOREnet.
03/21/2011 TruView had to be restarted at approximately 10:45 a.m. on 3/21/2011. The system was not properly closing old sessions and was running slow and preventing some new logins as a result.
03/21/2011 The University Cable TV provider will be performing maintenance on the cable TV system. There may a short outage (less then a minute) as systems are cleaned.
03/18/2011 Internet access was unavailable Thursday night from midnight until approximately 1:30 AM. The cause of the problem appears to have been a service outage on the Missouri State network. We have requested information from the State on the outage.
03/16/2011 UPDATE: Services have been restored. Users may need to re enter their credentials to get reconnected to wireless.

We are experiencing problems with one of our wireless authentication servers. This is causing intermittent connection failures. Our team is working on the issue and will report further information when system is back up.

03/18/2011 On Thursday, March 17th @ 8 PM, Student Printing will be unavailable for Server Maintenance and installation of software. This outage will affect all Student Printing Services campus-wide, and should last for approximately 1 hour. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and thank you for your patience.
03/10/2011 As of 10:00 PM tonight, all services scheduled to be unavailable due to the scheduled maintenance should be back online.

03/11/2011 Tonight at 8:00PM, during the regularly scheduled ITS maintenance window, several key IT resources will be unavailable.

Faculty/Staff email, TruView access, and the wireless network will be offline for updates. Network connectivity to Ophelia Parish and Kirk Building will also be briefly unavailable.

Full services should be restored by 10:00PM and an updated service note will be posted when all services are back online.

03/08/2011 We have received the following notice from our internet service provider, MORENet:

MNA technicians will be performing maintenance on equipment in the Kansas City areas between Tuesday, March 8th between 12:01 and 6am. This maintenance may take up to 5 hours.

We apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you for your patience.

03/06/2011 Telephone services are currently down to the Kirk Memorial building due to a damaged phone line. We will restore services as soon as possible.
03/03/2011 The Panopto CourseCast Server is back up following a restart to clear an error with domain name registration. We appreciate your patience during this service interruption and we apologize for any inconvenience caused. (Please note our original report of the system being unavailable was at 8:45 rather than 8:05.) The system was back by 9am.

At 8:05 this morning, it was observed that the Panopto CourseCast server was unavailable for recording log-in or video playback. Technicians are investigating now and we will update this note as soon as information is available.
02/23/2011 The University MySQL database server and the UNIX Personal Web server were unavailable for approximately 10 minutes due to a failed disk drive. Full service has now been restored.
02/22/2011 Self-Service Banner, including Banner links in TruView, were unavailable this morning following restart issues - services were restored at approximately 8:15am.
02/18/2011 Individuals running the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system may have issues connecting to the virtual desktops after recent Microsoft security patches were installed.

Our virtual desktop vendor is aware of these issues and has released an updated software client. If you are experiencing these issues please update to the latest version of the VMWare View Client from our website:

02/11/2011 We are experiencing intermittent problems with the HelpDesk phone system. We are working with the vendor to correct the problem as soon as possible.
02/08/2011 Technicians will be performing emergency maintenance on one of the University's primary storage systems tonight at 8:00PM. No outage is expected at this time.
02/07/2011 We have received the following notice from our internet service provider, MORENet:

Missouri Network Alliance technicians will be performing maintenance on equipment in the Kansas City area on Tuesday and Wednesday, February 8th and 9th , between 12:01 a.m. and 5a.m. A 15 minutes outage is expected during both maintenance windows.

02/06/2011 The Banner database server maintenance has been successfully completed. Services were unavailable from 8am to approximately 11:30am.
02/06/2011 TruView is currently offline and technicians are looking into the issue. More information will be posted when it available. Thank you for your patience.

UPDATE: TruView is back online. TruView was unavailable for about 40 minutes.

02/14/2011 The Pickler Library 312 computer lab has limited computers available due to water damage. Some computer stations are available for use but not as many computers as normal. Additional computers may have to be shutdown later if the water leaks continue.
01/30/2011 The Blackboard maintenance has been successfully completed. Services were restored by 2:15pm.
01/24/2011 On Saturday, Jan. 22nd, Student Printing Services experienced an unplanned outage due to an issue with the Server that handles Student Printing campus wide. this caused issues with being able to print to the Res Hall and the Lab printers. This issue has been identified and resolved, and as of 8:30 this morning, printing was restored. We apologize for any inconvenience. If you have any further issues with printing, please contact the ITS Service Center at 660-785-4544.

01/15/2011 Prior to the introduction of the WSUS server, Windows PCs would have to download updates from Microsoft and ITS had little control over how they were delivered and installed. Since updates are now hosted from within Truman's network, this should save bandwidth and result in faster update installation. Also, we now have the ability to control who gets which updates; for instance some users need Internet Explorer 7 instead of 8, we can now prevent those machines from installing version 8. The introduction of the WSUS server will result in Windows systems being kept more up to date with the latest security and bug fixes. You should expect to see Windows asking you to reboot when a new update is released.
01/11/2011 Network services to the University Press were restored at 11:00AM this morning.
01/10/2011 We will be upgrading our installation of Panopto Course Cast this afternoon to provide better resolution of issues experienced following our recent upgrade of Blackboard.

During the upgrade, the Panopto server will be unavailable for approximately 30 minutes. Recording even in "offline" mode will not be available during this window as users will be unable to log in till after the upgrade.

An update will be posted following the upgrade and normal functionality is expected to be reinstated by 6pm tonight.
