02/10/2012 Maintenance work will be performed on the Baldwin Hall networking equipment this Friday morning in between 7:30AM and 8:00AM. During this time a section of the Baldwin Hall wireless network may be unavailable for 5 to 15 minutes. Wired network connectivity will not be affected by this maintenance.
02/08/2012 Blackboard was experiencing logon issues from 8:30PM to 8:55PM. The Blackboard services were restarted and the the system should now be fully functional.
02/08/2012 Power has been restored to Barnett Hall and networking services are back online.
02/01/2012 The primary webserver was restarted at about 11:15 a.m. on 2/1/2012 due to server performance issues. All services have been restored.
01/30/2012 Several websites were unavailable from approximately 3:25 - 3:40 p.m. on 1/29/2012. All services have been restored.
01/30/2012 At 12:45pm, the Banner Forms server will be unavailable. All Banner Forms users need to be logged out of Banner Forms by 12:45pm. The outage is expected to be approximate 15-20 minutes.

Users of Banner test environments need to log out of the test environment forms also.

Notes: Banner itself will not be down and therefore integrated services will not be distrupted. This includes TruView (Banner Self-Service), TouchNet services, etc.

01/24/2012 Several IT systems are currently unavailable due to an equipment failure. We are working on restoring full services as soon as possible.
01/25/2012 ITS will be performing maintenance on networking equipment in the General Services building on Wednesday morning starting at 7:30AM. No outage is expected during this time - if a network cabling change is needed then a network segment may be momentarily unavailable.
01/26/2012 We have received the another notice from MORENet, the University's Internet Service Provider:

MNA technicians will be performing emergency maintenance on Friday, January 27th between 12:01 and 6am. An internet outage will occur during this maintenance window.

01/23/2012 At 11:20am today, January 23, we will be restarting Blackboard services in an attempted to resolve the Blackboard issues we are currently experiencing with the Discussion Forum and some other functionality. We continue to work with Blackboard support and appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this. The restart will take approximately 20 minutes.
01/23/2012 Blackboard Discussion Forums are currently experiencing a problem in which new threads cannot be created. However existing content can still be accessed. A support ticket with Blackboard support has been opened and we will resolve this issue as quickly as possible.
01/20/2012 We are experiencing performance issues with the virtual desktops. We are investigating the problem and will correct it as soon as possible.

01/19/2012 The Magruder Hall network was unavailable from 8:45PM to 9:45PM due to a failed component. The failed system was restarted and full networking service has been restored.
01/24/2012 ITS will be performing maintenance on networking equipment in Violette Hall this Tuesday morning at 7:00AM. No outage is expected during this time - if a network cabling change is needed then a network segment may be momentarily unavailable. All maintenance work will be complete before 7:30AM.
01/13/2012 There is currently an issue with printing to the following Student printers: PL203 LaserJet – Duplex Print, Pickler Lobby LaserJet – Duplex Print and VH2000 LaserJet – Duplex Print.

When printing to these printers, the print job will not duplex for the entire document. Most of the time, the first page will print out single-sided only, with each remaining page printing duplex. This issue only affects the Duplex printers, not the non-duplex printers. Also, all other Student Duplex printers, including Res Hall printers, are functioning correctly. ITS is aware of this issue, and is currently working on a solution.

01/23/2012 -- 1-19-12 Update
The antivirus updates are going smoothly, approximately 1,000 PCs have received the update. A few PCs had an error removing the McAfee OutLook Add-In. If you receive this error it can be removed as follows:

With Outlook opened:
Click on ‘Tools’
Select ‘Trust Center…’
Select ‘Add-Ins’
At the bottom of the screen there will be a drop-down field next to ‘Manage’
Select ‘Exchange Client Extensions’ and then click ‘Go…’
Unselect ‘Outlook Scan’ and click ‘OK’
When Outlook is closed and reopened, you will not receive the error.

You may notice the red "V" in your Windows system tray at the lower right of your screen change to a green square. We are slowly (and carefully) upgrading the antivirus software on Truman owned PCs.

Other than the system tray icon change the update should be transparent, there will be no change in how you use your PC, the PC will not reboot and your computer should actually run a little faster.

01/12/2012 The problem causing some Blackboard files to be unavailable has been resolved.
01/12/2012 Network services to the Student Recreation Center were unavailable from 4:19PM to 5:27PM due to component failure. A replacement part was put in place and service has been restored.
01/12/2012 In order to fix the reported problem with Blackboard file access, the Blackboard server will be unavailable tonight (Thursday, January 12) from 7:30 pm through approximately 9:30 pm.

We apologize for this inconvenience, and will do our best to bring this service back up as quickly as possible.

01/12/2012 Blackboard is experiencing a problem when attempting to access recently posted files. We are working with Blackboard support to resolve this issue.
01/12/2012 During the Blackboard outage this morning, Panopto services were also unavailable as Panopto authentication is linked to Blackboard. Panopto services were restored when Blackboard came back online. The ability to view or create recordings is now available.
01/12/2012 EMS SQL Server failed to restart after MS Windows updates were applied overnight. System restarted and services made available at 8:50am this morning.
01/12/2012 The Blackboard database failed to restart automatically after last nights backup. Services were restored and system made available at 9am this morning.
01/06/2012 The Panopto server will be briefly unavailable at 5:00PM this evening for maintenance. Full service will be restored by 5:30PM.
01/06/2012 The personal web server (www2.truman.edu) will be briefly unavailable at 1:30PM for maintenance.
