03/21/2012 UPDATE - Another outage occurred from 1:18PM to 1:24PM this afternoon. We have reported this to our service provider.

Internet services are back online as of 9:15AM. The outage was caused by a configuration issue with MNA who is the network provider for MORENet.

03/21/2012 We have received a maintenance notice from MORENet, the University's Internet Service Provider.

MNA/Bluebird technicians will be performing emergency maintenance in the Kansas City area on Wednesday, March 21 between 12:01 and 5am. Maintenance is expected to last one hour. The University may see an outage during this window; however, traffic should reroute through Columbia.

03/16/2012 Microsoft has released an important security update for Windows computers (MS12-020).

This update is automatically sent to all Truman owned computers, however the update will not be active until the computer is rebooted. Before you leave work today please shutdown your Windows computer system or reboot it so the security update will be installed.

03/17/2012 This morning, Friday 16 March 2012, between 7 and 8am we will be performing maintenance and upgrades on the Panopto servers. This work should be transparent to both viewers and recorders. If you are recording and uploading sessions during the maintenance process this morning and find that any of those recordings later are not available in Blackboard, please contact the ITS Help Desk to request that those sessions be reprocessed. The maintenance tasks will not prevent any recordings or viewings from taking place.
03/15/2012 Thursday morning, March 15th, at 6:45AM ITS will be performing UPS maintenance. There may be a five minute outage in networking services in the SUB, Kirk Building, Power Plant, Violette Hall, Magruder Hall and Counseling Center.
03/12/2012 TruView will be restarted at 8:30 a.m. on 3/12/2012 to fix an error with the single sign on to Degreeworks.
03/12/2012 The integration issue between DegreeWorks and TruView has been resolved. The DegreeWorks link is now operational again in TruView.
03/08/2012 In addition to the the TruView maintenance at 10:00PM, ITS will be applying general system updates to systems at 8:00PM tonight. No service outage is expected until TruView maintenance starts at 10:00PM.
03/08/2012 TruView will be taken down for scheduled maintenance at approximately 10 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2012. This is scheduled during the weekly IT Maintenance Window. The work should take about 30 minutes.
03/06/2012 Most of the maintenance updates were successfully complete for Blackboard last night but we have one remaining, important piece that needs to be completed now. We are stopping Blackboard services at 2pm today to complete the remaining piece of the maintenance work. Services should be available within 30 minutes.
03/07/2012 ITS will be performing maintenance on the SRC network on Wednesday, March 7th from 8:00AM to 11:00AM. Network services will be unavailable to the building during this time.
03/05/2012 On Monday, March 5, Blackboard services will be unavailable from 5:00pm until approximately 10:00pm in order to complete some system maintenance on the Blackboard application server.
03/06/2012 ITS will be performing maintenance on networking equipment in Baldwin Hall on Tuesday afternoon starting at 1:30PM. No outage is expected during this time - if a network cabling change is needed then a network segment may be momentarily unavailable.
03/08/2012 ITS will be performing maintenance on the SUB network on the 6th from 7:30AM to 1:30PM. During this time cable TV will be offline campus wide and networking services in the SUB may be offline. ITS will also be performing maintenance in the SUB on the 7th and 8th from 2:30PM to 4:30PM. During this time users on the 1st and 2nd floor will not have networking services.
03/03/2012 The University internet connection will be unavailable from 11:00PM on Saturday night to 6:00AM Sunday morning. MORENet, the University's internet service provider, will be performing equipment upgrades during this time period. 02/29/2012 Power has been restored as of 2:01PM and networking services in Barnett Hall, West Campus Suites, Campbell Apartments, Baldwin Delaney, University Press and University Farm are back online.
02/27/2012 Due to a residual issue related to the Banner upgrade this weekend, a quick Banner forms restart is required.

Banner Forms users need to log out of Banner forms by 12:45. Banner Forms will be restarted at that time. Any users that don’t get logged out will need to log back in following the restart – their active session will be dropped during the restart. The restart should take approximately 10-15 minutes.

Note: The Banner database will not be down for this – just Banner forms. TruView and Banner related services through TruView will not be affected by this restart.

02/24/2012 The SQL database server will be taken down for maintenance at approximately 5:00 a.m. on Friday, February 24 during the regularly scheduled ITS Maintenance Window.
Services affected include most Truman websites, TruView, Panopto, and others.
The maintenance is expected to take 30 minutes to an hour.
02/23/2012 Maintenance work will be performed on the Baldwin Hall networking equipment this Thursday evening from 8:00PM-12:00AM during the regularly scheduled ITS maintenance window. During this time networking services will be offline to the north side of the building.
02/22/2012 The damaged component was replaced and full network service to Centennial Hall was restored at 4:45PM.
02/21/2012 Maintenance work will be performed on the Baldwin Hall networking equipment this Tuesday morning at 7:30AM. At this time a section of the Baldwin Hall wired network may be unavailable for 5 to 10 minutes.
02/20/2012 Networking services in sections of Barnett Hall were offline from 8:32AM to 8:39AM due to power failure. Power was restored and all services are back online.
02/19/2012 We have received a maintenance notice from MORENet, the University's Internet Service Provider.

They will be performing maintenance on many of their systems on Sunday, February 19th, from 12:00AM to 5:00AM.

During this time period there will not be any email from off campus addresses delivered to Truman addresses.

MORENet Notice:
Due to the popularity of MOREnet’s hosted services, we are making improvements in our data center to enhance our power distribution and make better use of our resources with some wiring upgrades.

What this means to you -

If you have one of the following hosted services through MOREnet, you will experience a temporary outage early Sunday morning, Feb. 19, until about 5 a.m. In the event of unforeseen problems, it may take longer. No Internet connections will be affected by this outage. Once technicians have everything back online, the changes will allow us to continue to grow our hosted services and meet our members' needs.

E-mail Archiving
E-mail Relay
Learning Management System (LMS) Hosting using Moodle

02/14/2012 The problem with the Truman faculty / staff email system has been resolved.
02/10/2012 Microsoft PowerPoint has a screen flicker on some lab computers. We are investigating the problem and will correct it as soon as possible.
