04/17/2014 All Truman WordPress sites will be updated at approximately 9:00 p.m. during tonight's maintenance window. Any downtime should be brief. This includes all personal and organizations sites using WordPress, blogs.truman.edu, wp-internal.truman.edu, and www.truman.edu.
04/17/2014 OTRS will be down for approximately 30 minutes during tonight's maintenance window for a software update.
03/28/2014 At approximately 10:40 PM, the truman Fileserver, Hydrogen, experienced an outage. All Faculty/Staff W, Y drives, and Student Y and U drives are currently offline. ITS is aware of the issue, and there is currently no ETA for resolution.
03/27/2014 Currently, several of the buildings on campus are experienceing outages affecting Internet, Network and printing. These issue are related to the power outage from this morning. ITS is working on the issue with no ETA for a resolution.
03/27/2014 As of 2:45 PM today, all Student Virtual Desktops should be back online. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience, and thank you for your patience.
03/27/2014 Blackboard services were down due to campus power outage. All services as been restored.
03/27/2014 Banner, DegreeWorks, and all related services were down due to a campus power outage. Services have been restored.
03/27/2014 Due to the power outages on campus today, the Student Virtual Desktops in the Res Halls and Labs are currently unavailable. ITS is aware of the issue, and is working to resolve it. We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your patience.
03/27/2014 As of 9:00 am today, the campus is experiencing sporadic power outages. So far, they are limited to only a few buildings at a time, and not the entire campus simultaneously. ITS is aware of the issue, and is investigating the cause.
03/20/2014 There will be brief maintenance on www.truman.edu at about 9pm on 3/20/2014 as the site is moved to a new server. Any outage should be very short.
03/19/2014 The primary University Internet connection was running slowly starting at 12:10PM. The suspected root cause of this issue is a DDOS attack against a University system. We have requested MORENet block the attack at their core router. Additional campus level blocks were put in place at 12:30PM to alleviate the issue.
03/14/2014 Thursday evening, March 13th, starting at 8:00PM the wireless network and south campus network will be unavailable for maintenance.

The wireless network will be unavailable campus wide during this maintenance window. Full service should be restored by 10:00PM.

The wired network in the following buildings will be unavailable:

Health Sciences
Pershing Building
General Services
Adair House
Patterson House
Barnett Hall
Grim Hall

Full services for these buildings should be restored by 9:00PM.

03/10/2014 The primary internet connection has been partially unavailable this morning due to routing issues with our ISP, MORENet. We have received the following message from MORENet:

MOREnet technicians upgraded software on one core router to address a bug in the software. The upgrade does not appear to have addressed the bug in the software. MOREnet technicians escalated this with the vendor and are currently on the phone working to resolve this issue. MOREnet members may experience intermittent internet outages as we work to resolve this issues.

03/06/2014 From 9:38AM to 9:44AM the primary internet connection was partially unavailable. The University Internet Service provider, MORENet, had a routing error in their network. The problem has now been resolved.
03/05/2014 UPDATE: The root cause of this issue was traced back to a DDOS attack against a University system. MORENet blocked the attack at their core router. Normal service was restored at 3:43PM.

ORIGINAL SERVICE NOTE:The primary University Internet connection is running slowly as of 2:14PM. The problem is occurring outside the University network with MORENet, the University Internet Service Provider. MORENet technicians are currently looking into the issue on the state network but believe the root cause is a DDOS attack.

03/05/2014 UPDATE: The repairs to the fiber optic line have been completed and full services have been restored to the affected buildings.

PREVIOUS UPDATE: The fiber optic line providing service to these buildings is severed and will require extensive repair. Network, internet, and cable TV service to these buildings could be unavailable until the end of the business day on Thursday, March 6th.

ORIGINAL SERVICE NOTE: Network and internet services to Campbell Apartments, Baldwin Delaney, Stokes Stadium, and the Trades Building are unavailable. Cable TV service to Campbell Apartments is also unavailable. A utility vendor was digging in the area and fiber optic lines that provide service to these buildings may be damaged.

03/04/2014 UPDATE: Normal mail delivery service has been restored.

ORIGINAL SERVICE NOTE: We are currently experiencing slow incoming e-mail from external sources. Technicians are looking into the issue.

03/04/2014 UPDATE: The issue with the internet slowness was resolved at 2:50PM. The root cause of the issue was traced to a DDOS attack against the MORENet network.

The problem is occurring outside the University network with MORENet, the University Internet Service Provider. MORENet technicians are currently looking into the issue on the state network but believe the root cause is a DDOS attack.

03/02/2014 The Banner system is scheduled for an upgrade this weekend. Banner and all Banner integrated, dependent services including the Banner links in TruView will be unavailable starting at 4am Saturday morning, March 1st, and will remain down until the completion of the upgrade. Banner services were made available at approximately

02/28/2014 UPDATE: Service was restored at 11:30am yesterday.

UPDATE: Physical Plant electricians were unable to respond and restore power to this section of Barnett Hall. Network services will continue to be unavailable until power is restored.

Wired network services in parts of Barnett Hall are down due to power related issues. This will mainly affect the middle section on 2nd floor. Service will be restored as soon as possible.

02/25/2014 Banner Upgrade
The Banner system is scheduled for an upgrade this weekend. Banner and all Banner integrated, dependent services including the Banner links in TruView will be unavailable starting at 4am Saturday morning, March 1st, and will remain down until the completion of the upgrade. It is expected that the upgrade may take until Sunday evening, March 2nd.

Note: Blackboard services will not be impacted by the Banner upgrade and will be available as usual.

02/22/2014 The Central Authentication Service (CAS) server was unavailable from approximately 1:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. on 1/22/2014.
02/19/2014 Faculty/Staff e-mail was unavailable from 9:25PM to 9:35PM this afternoon due to a software fault.
02/19/2014 DegreeWorks logging operation run out of space. This issue was resolved and services restored at approximately 9:00am. Measures have been put in place to prevent this from occurring.
