| 09/18/2017 | Update: Upgrade is complete - Banner and all Banner integrated services are now available. -- Banner service outage: Banner upgrade scheduled for Sunday, September 17th - The Banner system is scheduled for an upgrade this weekend. Banner and all Banner integrated, dependent services including the Banner links in TruView will be unavailable starting at 4am Sunday morning, September 17th, and will remain down until the completion of the upgrade. We ask campus to plan for the upgrade to take until Sunday evening, September 17th. This upgrade is part of the multiyear, campus-wide initiative to complete the upgrade of our Banner environment to Banner 9. Banner 9 includes a modern user, interface, enhanced navigation and new functionality across the Student, Human Resources, and Finance functions. In additional, Banner 9 will run on any browser and on mobile devices. Note: This upgrade is to complete some necessary work to support updates needed for the ongoing Banner 9 upgrade project and is not the completion of the upgrade to Banner 9. | 09/15/2017 | Update: Maintenance is complete and services are available ----- Banner maintenance at 5pm today (September 14, 2017) The Banner system requires a hardware repair following an equipment failure. Banner and all Banner integrated, dependent services including the Banner links in TruView will be unavailable starting at 5pm Thursday, September 14th. It is expected that the repair should be completed and all services restored by approximately 7pm. A Service Note will be sent out when the Banner system is available following completion of the hardware repair. Note: Blackboard services will not be impacted by the Banner maintenance and will be available as usual. |

| 09/06/2017 | Tonight, from midnight to five o'clock, the University internet connection will be partially degraded with one circuit unavailable due to vendor maintenance. Internet service will be available during this time but bandwidth and speeds may be slower than normal. |

Our provider indicated the network event cleared about 12:15pm. Phone service should be restored. --------------------------------------------------------------- Orginal message: Approximately 11:00AM there have been multiple reports of phones not working. It appears that some phones work whiles other do not. Our provider confirmed that they were dealing with a network event and they will have service restored as soon as possible. We will send out an update after service is restored. |

This maintenance is being done outside our normal maintenance window in order to get it done prior to students arriving on campus. The system should be unavailble for a few minutes. If you are logged into a site already, your access shouldn't be interrupted. CAS is the logon system for TruView, WordPress sites, Google Apps, and many other web-based systems. |

UPDATE -- Maintenence will on Thursday, August 10th. The following maintenance will occur between 9pm - 10pm Thursday Night -- The 2.4Ghz wireless network will experience a brief 1 minute interruption while we make a configuration change. A small area on the south side of Centennial Hall will experience a short network outage as equipment is power cycled. Kirk Building will experience a short network outage while equipment is power cycled. |

| 06/16/2017 | The SQL Database Server had issues starting at approximately 12:50 pm on 6/15/2017 and had to be restarted at about 1:25 pm. Many websites were affected by this outage including the main Truman website, TruView, and many internal tools. All services should be restored. |

| 05/16/2017 | UPDATE: Upgrade was completed successfully at about 11:15 a.m. survey.truman.edu will be upgraded to a new version starting about 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2017. The upgrade should take a few hours to complete, and should be done by noon. All existing surveys and responses will be maintained through the upgrade process. The main change will be a new user interface. The Getting Started Guide at https://www.checkbox.com/docs/documentation/getting-started-guides/create-a-simple-survey/ is a good resource for navigating the new version. |

| 05/05/2017 | A well crafted widespread Google Apps phishing attack was launched this afternoon. If you receive an email from Hhhhhhhhhhh@mailinator.com that looks like a Google Apps "shared documents" message DO NOT OPEN IT. If you do open the email, you are still OK if you DO NOT click on the button in the email and enter your userid and password. If you have clicked on the button and entered your userid and password immediately change your Truman password and remove the fake "Google Docs" app from your account. To remove the fake "Google Docs" app from your account go to: https://myaccount.google.com/permissions, select "Manage Apps," click on any entries called "Google Docs", and click the Remove button.
