01/17/2017 | Due to an issue we are having with the Banner database which is impacting some system processes and some key major projects, the Banner server will be unavailable at 9pm for approximately 15-20 minutes. We will make some adjustments to the database and hopefully prevent any additional issues. All Banner services including Banner links in TruView will be unavailable while we complete this work at 9pm. We appreciate your patience as we work on correcting this issue. Note: Blackboard services will NOT be impacted by this work. |
01/12/2017 | UPDATE - Maintenance on the Barracuda SPAM and Virus Filter is complete and email services are restored. ITS will upgrade the Barracuda SPAM and Virus Filter beginning at 8 pm on Thursday, January 12 during the regularly scheduled maintenance window. During the upgrade, email to Truman addresses from outside Truman will be queued for later delivery. This includes email from Truman Google accounts (student accounts). Once the upgrade is complete, the queued mail will be delivered. The upgrade may take up to 3 hours, but will likely be done in less than 2 hours. We will update this service note when the upgrade is completed. |
01/10/2017 | The WordPress server was unavaiilable from about 3:15 - 3:30 on 1/10/2016. The server has been restared and all services seem to be available. |
01/06/2017 | There were some performance issues with TruView from about 4:00 until about 4:30 on 1/6/2017. At some points the system was unavailable as we worked to get the issues resolved. All services seem to be back up now. |

01/05/2017 | The MySQL Database server will be in read-only mode for about 45 minutes starting at 8:00 pm on 1/5/2017. This is to allow data replication to a new server. All websites will be accessible, but some interactive features may not allow updates during this time. |

RESOLVED: Socket confirmed the issues to be resolved as of 6:00PM on Wednesday. The cause of the issues was a DDOS attack against Sockets network. If you have any issues with making/receiving calls or sound quality, please contact ITS.
Original Message------------------------- Starting as soon as 10:03am, phone service is currently intermittent or completely down campus wide. Our provider, Socket, is aware of the issue and are currently working toward a resoltuion. We will send out an update as soon as service is restored. |
12/08/2016 | Since the University transitioned to our new telephone provider, there have been onging issues with sending and receiving faxes. In an attempt to resolve these issues, our service provider has moved ALL fax machine numbers to new equipment. To make sure we resolve all faxing issues, we would appreciated your help in reporting any problems you encounter while using fax machines. We need the following information: Time of error (nearest minute) Number of your fax machine Number you are trying to send the fax Description of problem or error message Forward this information to Dustin Howard - dhoward@truman.edu or call 785-4165. Dustin will respond as quickly as possible and will assist in sending any faxes that are failing. We do not anticipate this change will speed up faxing, only make the service more reliable. |
12/01/2016 | The WordPress server was restarted at 8:25 a.m. on 12/1/2016 to fix some performance issues that have been occuring this morning. The issue appears to be resolved. Sites affected include campus office sites, student organization sites, blogs.truman.edu, and wp-internal.truman.edu. |
11/17/2016 | DegreeWorks services will be unavailable following with daily 4am backup in order for an upgrade to be completed. It is expected the upgrade could take four or five hours to completed. An email will go out when services are available following the upgrade. |
11/14/2016 | Faculty/staff e-mail delivery from Sunday evening to Monday morning may have been delayed for some individuals. The issue has been resolved as of 8:15AM this morning. |

09/20/2016 | Correction: The websites became unavailble about 11:50 a.m. (not 10:50 a.m.). The outage lasted about 10 minutes. Many Truman websites were briefly unavailable from about 10:50 a.m. to about 12:00 p.m. on 9/20/2016 due to a server issue. All services are back up and we are looking into the issue. |
