09/26/2018 | At approximately 8:20 am this morning, one of the hardware gateway devices that connects Truman phone extensions to the Socket Telcom service failed. Currently, 48 phone extensions are affected. Socket is aware of the issue and is working to resolve it. There is no estimated estimated time to resolution at this time. 09/24/2018 | Between approximately 1:30 and 3:30 pm on 9/24/2018, there were issues with the mysql database server, the Microsoft SQL database server, and TruView. The mysql server was back up by about 2:00. The Microsoft SQL Server was back up by about 2:30 and TruView was back up by about 3:15 or 3:30. All services should be fully restored at this time. |

09/19/2018 | Blackboard services became unresponsive at approximately 10:38am. Services have been restarted and all services should now be available. We are researching the source of the service disruption. |
09/13/2018 | Tonight at 10PM, during the regularly scheduled ITS Maintenance window, the University file server and the virtual desktop will be briefly unavailable. Full service should be restored by 10:15PM. |
08/28/2018 | UPDATE - As of 10:02 AM today, phone service was restored. Socket called and confirmed thats ervice should be back to 100%. We aplogize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your patience. As of 9:45 AM on Monday the 27th, the main provider for campous phone service, Socket, is experiencing and outage. Socket and ITS are aware of the issue, and are working to resolve it. there is no estimated time to resolution. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience. |

08/05/2018 | Update: Banner and all Banner integrated, dependent services including the Banner links in TruView are now available. ----------- Banner Upgrade The Banner system is scheduled for an upgrade on Sunday, August 5th. Banner and all Banner integrated, dependent services including the Banner links in TruView will be unavailable starting at 4am Sunday morning, August 5th, and will remain down until the completion of the upgrade. For planning purposes, please plan for the upgrade to take all day. This Service Note will be updated when Banner is available following the upgrade. Note: Blackboard services will not be impacted by the Banner upgrade and will be available as usual. |

At aprroximately 1:35 pm, Socket experienced an outage that affected the analog and IP phones campus wide. Affected are the ability to make outgoing calls, both internal and external. Socket is aware of the issue. and is working to resolve it ASAP. We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your patience. |

07/31/2018 | UPDATE - Socket has resolved the issue, and voicemail service has been restored. We apologize for any incenvenience, and the you for your patience. An issue with accessing voicemail was reported. Currently, users are not able to access voicemails, and are given the message "This operation cannot be completed at this time." Socket is aware of the issue, and is working to resolve it. An update will be posted when the issue is resolved. We thank you for your patience and understanding. |
07/28/2018 | The DegreeWorks update ran into a number of issues including issues with getting support from Ellucian. We completed the upgrade and it was made available via TruView overnight. This morning the update was made to allow access to off campus. The new version of DegreeWorks is 5.0.1.1. ----- DegreeWorks Upgrade Saturday, July 28th DegreeWorks services will be unavailable Saturday, July 28th, beginning at 4am with the normal shutdown for backups and then remaining down for upgrade. We will be upgrading DegreeWorks to the most currently available release. As this is a major upgrade, please plan for the system to be down for most of the day. A Service Note will be posted when the upgrade is complete and services have been restored. We appreciate your patience as we work to maintain the DegreeWorks system. |
07/12/2018 | There have been delivery delays of incoming email to Faculty and Staff members. We believe this was due to a faulty Microsoft .NET security update. These issues should now be permanently resolved. Thank you. |

06/28/2018 | Tonight (6/28/2018) at approximately 9:00 pm, the website search on www.truman.edu and wp-internal.truman.edu will be switched to a new service. There should be no interruption in service, but the results will be formatted differently. |
06/14/2018 | The Microsoft SQL Database server will be upgraded at approximately 9:30 pm on 6/14/2018 during the weekly IT Maintenance Window. Many websites and web applications will be unavailable or may display errors during the upgrade. |
06/07/2018 | The WordPress networks (blogs.truman.edu, sites.truman.edu, wp-internal.truman.edu, tmn.truman.edu, and dh.truman.edu) will be switched to a new server at approximately 9:30 pm on 6/7/2018. There should not be any downtime. There is a small chance that some specific features may not work with the new software, but we will address those issues as they are found. |
05/31/2018 | Blackboard services were unavailable from approximately 5:00am to 8:25am due to a space issue. All services should now be available. |
05/22/2018 | Banner services were unavailable from approximately 4:35pm to 4:50pm due to a file system running out of space. All services resumed once the space issue was addressed. |
05/18/2018 | Update: The Blackboard upgrade is complete and services are available. ------------------------- The Blackboard Learn course management system is scheduled for upgrade during May Interim. It will be upgraded to Blackboard 9.1 Q4 (fourth quarter) 2017. This update includes critical security updates and a number of fixes including the fix to the Safari browser upload issue. In addition, new features include: · Instructors can now more easily clean up their grade books by deleting multiple columns at once. · An open or closed padlock icon on the main course page makes it easy to see the availability of the course to students, and with one click you can quickly change the status. The upgrade will begin on Friday, May 18th, with the system remaining down following the 4am database backup in order to complete additional backups needed prior to the upgrade. While we are hopeful it will take less time, for your planning purposes please plan for Blackboard to be unavailable until approximately 12pm. The system will be made available as soon as possible. A Service Note will be posted when Blackboard is available for use. We appreciate your patience as we continue to maintain the Blackboard system. |
05/17/2018 | We are restarting Blackboard to resolve an issue we are experiencing that is causing disruptions to Blackboard services. Blackboard services should be restored in approximately 15-20 minutes (around 10:30-10:35am). |
05/18/2018 | On Thursday night, starting at 10PM, ITS will be performing maintenance on the internal DNS servers. No outage is expected at this time. |
05/11/2018 | TruView Banner Self Service links are now working. Services were unavailable for a short while due to a SSL certificate issue on the TruView port for Self-Service Banner. |
