UPDATE: While DNS and DHCP services are up and running, there may still be some related issues with other services. ITS is aware and working towards a resolution. __________________________ DNS and DHCP went down at 7:45am and was intermittent or slow to repond until about 8:30am. During that time we found the root cause and services are fully restored. |

We will be taking Blackboard down at 8:00am on Thursday, October 15, 2015, for the patch and required restart. The outage should be no longer than approximately 30 minutes provided we have no issues. OTRS will be updated from 4.0.9 to 4.0.11 during next Sunday's maintenance window, 9/20/2015, at 8:00 AM. The outage is scheduled for 1 hour. |
08/25/2015 | SECOND UPDATE: Tonight at 9:00PM, during the regularly scheduled ITS maintenance window, we will restore the second internet connection. This is the connection that originally had issues with connectivity to select sites; Our ISP is reporting these issues should now be resolved. FIRST UPDATE: There will be a brief internet service outage at 12:15 on 08/25 for the selection of users who are currently experiencing connectivity issues. At this time we will fail over their connection to our fully functioning connection as a temporary work around. ORIGINAL SERVICE NOTE: A selection of websites and internet services are unavailable via a campus wired network connection. We are working with our Internet Service Provider to resolve the issue. As a work around, connecting via a wireless connection will currently solve the issue. We'll provide an update when one is available. |

Blackboard services failed at approximately 5:00am this morning. Services were restarted and available by 7:50am. We are reseaching the failure and believe we have tracked down the issue to a configure problem. We in the process of taking corrective actions so we have no future failures of this kind. |

As of noon, the University internet connection is available. Outages with the University internet service provider, Bluebird, caused the outage in the greater Kirksville area. Bluebird is looking into the cause of the outage. |

Blackboard services are up and available. We are still working with Blackboard support on a few issues. At this time, we don't know of any additional outage needs will this may change as Blackboard finds resolution to the remaining issues related to migrating to new servers. ----- UPDATE: The Blackboard upgrade is still in progress. We are working with Blackboard support on the migration needs for the cloud services that are part of Blackboard. This piece of the upgrade is complicated, involving multiple groups at Blackboard. We appreciate your patience as we continue to work on this upgrade. We will get the system back up as soon as possible. ----- Blackboard Upgrade Plan The final piece of the upgrade requires the system to be down to move the active semester and complete the final services migrations to the new servers. Beginning at 4am on Monday, August 3, all Blackboard services will be taken down for the final upgrade. Blackboard services will remain down until the upgrade is complete. We will send out a campus wide notification when the upgrade is complete and Blackboard is available. We are not sure how long this remaining piece will take but we are giving a very rough estimate of 8 hours. We will try to complete it as quickly as we can and still ensure we have completed all required tasks and checked everything for accuracy.

Tonight, starting at 8:00PM, maintenance will be performed on the wireless network and internet connection. For the wireless network there will be a campus wide five to fifteen minute outage at 8:00PM. For the internet connection, there will be a short one to three minute outage. There will also be short localized network outages in Pickler 1st Floor on the east side of the building, in General Services and in the West Campus Suites 1st floor. Finally, logon script software will be upgrade during this maintenance window as well. |
