01/13/2016 | The main Truman website www.truman.edu was unavailable from approximately 5:43 to 6:00 p.m. on 1/13/2016. All services have been restored. |
01/12/2016 | The MySQL Database server was running slowly from about 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on 1/12/2016. Systems affected included TruView, Wordpress, and others. All systems appear to be performing normally now. |
01/11/2016 | OTRS was reported as responding slowly this morning. Two long-running processes were stopped on the server. OTRS is now responding normally. |
01/07/2016 | All Truman WordPress sites will be updated at approximately 9:30 p.m. during tonight's maintenance window. Any downtime should be brief. This includes all personal and organization sites using WordPress, blogs.truman.edu, wp-internal.truman.edu, tmn.truman.edu, and www.truman.edu. The load balancing server used for www.truman.edu and apps.truman.edu will also be restarted. Downtime should be a few seconds. |
01/06/2016 | Blackboard services were briefly unavailable. We restarting services and the system is now available. We will research the potential source of the system problems. |
12/29/2015 | The Blackboard upgrade is complete and all Blackboard services should be available. ------ Blackboard Upgrade December 29th Starting at 8am ITS is scheduled to upgrade the Blackboard Learn course management system during Winter Break. We will upgrade to the Blackboard 9.1 October 2014 release. This update brings primarily bug fixes to existing functionality with minimal change to the user experience. In addition we will be installing a new product license which will bring us new features and functionality to be implemented later in 2016. The upgrade will begin on Tuesday, December 29th, at 8am and is expected to take approximately four hours to complete. An email update will be sent out announcing the upgrade status upon completion. We appreciate your patience as we continue our work to maintain the Blackboard system. |

We had a GBIC failure due to water damage from the roof leaking. This caused one of the two network switches to go offline in the early morning hours. We have replaced the damaged harware and protected the electronics against anymore water damage. |
12/17/2015 | UPDATE - All maintance has been completed on the Student Print Server, and all printing services are available again. Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding. CORRECTION - During this time, all Student Printing services will notbe unavailable. At approximately 9:00 PM tonight, ITS will be performing maintenance on the server that handles Student Print Services. The maintenance is anticipated to take about 1 hour, but may be less. During this time, all Student Printing services will be unavailable. An update will be posted once Student printing services are available. We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your patience. |

12/10/2015 | During Thursday's maintenance window we will be migrating one of our web servers to a new instance. Sites affected include: blogs.truman.edu tmn.truman.edu wp-internal.truman.edu sites.truman.edu The change should be instantaneous. After the switch content between the old and new server will need to be resyncronized to make sure all files uploaded prior to the change are migrated. This could take up to two hours. During this period if you have a file that is not showing up please wait to upload the file again. It should appear after the syncronization. |
11/12/2015 | Tonight at 9:00PM, during the regularly scheduled ITS Maintenance Window, the wireless network will be momentarily unavailable. The expected duration of this outage is less then one minute. Also during this time the virtual desktop system will be undergoing a hardware check. No outage or degredation to this service is expected at this time. |

11/04/2015 | UPDATE: As of 12:20 PM today, all services have been restored. We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your patience. UPDATE: While DNS and DHCP services are up and running, there may still be some related issues with other services. ITS is aware and working towards a resolution. __________________________ DNS and DHCP went down at 7:45am and was intermittent or slow to repond until about 8:30am. During that time we found the root cause and services are fully restored. |

10/16/2015 | Update: We will be taking Blackboard down at 8:00am on Friday, October 16, 2015, to attempt to resolve our security patch issue. If the correction we are attempting works, the outage should be no longer than approximately 30-45 minutes. |

We will be taking Blackboard down at 8:00am on Thursday, October 15, 2015, for the patch and required restart. The outage should be no longer than approximately 30 minutes provided we have no issues.
