Service Notes

The University primary internet connection will be undergoing maintenance by our internet service provider on 10/09 from 12:01AM to 6:00AM.  The outage may last just a few seconds but due to the nature of the work the service provider is reserving the entire window and there will be two backup days of 10/10 and 10/11.

Around 11:00am sevice to several Truman services served by main MSSQL server was interrupted by MSSQL failure.  Services have been restored. 

All Truman WordPress sites will be updated at approximately 8:00 p.m. during tonight's maintenance window. Any downtime should be brief. This includes all personal and organization sites using WordPress, blogs.truman.edu, wp-internal.truman.edu, tmn.truman.edu, and www.truman.edu.

From 10:45am to 11:00am sevice to several Truman services (including TruView, Banner, and Word Press) was interrupted by a CAS failure.  Services have been restored.  Users may need to close and reopen any browser sessions that were active during this window.

We will be performing network maintenance on Thursday (9/26/19) beginning at 10pm in Violette Hall.  Wired and wireless network connectivity, as well as VOIP (Polycom) phone service will be unavailable in the North half of the building during this time. More specifically this will impact rooms 1100-1236 on the first floor and 2100-2200 on the second floor.

We will be performing network maintenance on Thursday (9/12/19) beginning at 8pm in Magruder Hall. The network will be down on the third floor for approximately two hours. This will affect wired and wireless network connectivity, as well as Polycom phone connections (VOIP).

We will be performing network maintenance on Thursday (9/5/19) beginning at 8pm in Violette Hall. The network will be down in different portions of the building for approximately two hours. This will affect the majority of wired and wireless network connectivity, as well as Polycom phone connections (VOIP).

We have received reports of some students having trouble accessing their Truman email from Google Chrome browsers.  This does not appear to be a Truman specific issue but rather a problem with Google cloud services.  Similar issues have been reported by other organizations using Google cloud services.    For a  temporary solution using a Chrome incognito window appears to work.  We will continue to research and monitor the issue.  Thank you

On Friday, August 30th, at 1:00AM the University phone provider will be peforming maintenance on the phone system. The phone system will be unavailable at this time for 10 to 15 minutes. 

***UPDATE*** This maintenance is now complete. 

On Thursday, August 15th, at 8:00PM the campus network will be unavailable for three to five minutes for software upgrades. During this time all network access including internet, wireless and wired connectivity will be unavailable. 

Currently all Banner links in TruView are not accessible.  We are applying updates intended to fix this issue and will post another service note when complete.

Some Windows systems may display a message about the Microsoft ForeFront antivirus software being out of date.  The antivirus system is still active and protecting your computer but there is an issue with it not receiving updates.  We are aware of the problem and are working on a solution.  In the meanwhile if the message is troublesome for you please contact the IT Service Center at x4544 and we will have a technician manually update your system.  Thank you.

This morning serveral Truman websites were down. The primary MSSQL server has been rebooted and all sites appear to be available.  We will continue to monitor the cause.

**UPDATE** - The upgrades to the Facuty/Staff Print server have been completed, and printing services restored.  We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your patience.

At approximately 9:00 pm Thursday July 18th, ITS will be performing upgrades on the Faculty/Staff Print server.  During this time, all Faculty/Staff Printing services will be unavailable. This outage should last 60 minutes, but could be longer.  An update will be posted when printing services are restored.  We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your patience.

The Banner system is scheduled for an infrastructure update during the July 11th, Thursday night, maintenance window. Banner and all Banner integrated, dependent services including the Banner links in TruView will be unavailable starting at 6pm Thursday, July 11th.

The Banner system is scheduled for a major upgrade this Sunday. Banner and all Banner integrated, dependent services including the Banner links in TruView will be unavailable starting at 4am Sunday morning, June 30th, and will r-emain down until the completion of the upgrade. Please plan for Banner services to be unavailable until Sunday evening, June 30th.

A Service Note will be sent out when the Banner system is available following completion of the upgrade.

Channels 3, 4, and 6 are currently out due to equipment failure. Our provider has been notified and has shipped replacements.

At appoximately 9:00 PM tonight, ITS will be performing maintenance on several key servers.  These servers control the Truman.edu website, Faculty/Staff email, Faculty/Staff and Student network drives, and other various services.  These services will be down intermittently over several hours.  An update will be posted when work has completed, and all services are back online.
