Tonight at 9PM, the security certificates for the University faculty/staff email system, virtual private network and virtual desktop system will be updated. No outage is expected. You may be prompted to trust or accept the new cerficate when accessing email on a mobile device or desktop email application (Other then Microsoft Outlook). In this particular case, it is safe to accept the new certificate as there is an official notification of a certifcate change. In other instances and without prior notification, security certificate prompts could indicate a potential attack or eavsedropping. Banner maintenance is complete and servicers are now available. -------------- Banner and all Banner dependent services including the Banner links in TruView will be unavailable on Tuesday, May 19th, starting at 7:30am. We will be completing maintenance on the database server. This service note will be updated when the work is complete and services are restored. |

Update: The Blackboard upgrade is complete and Blackboard is now available ----------- The Blackboard Learn course management system is scheduled for upgrade on Tuesday, May 19th, with Blackboard services being unavailable beginning with the 4am backup. We will be installing a required security maintenance upgrade. As always, we will do our best to minimize the downtime of this critical system. For planning purposes, please plan for Blackboard to be unavailable for the morning. A Service Note will be posted when Blackboard is available for use. Note: This upgrade does not impact Banner. |

At approximately 8:15 am this morning, it was reported to ITS that the FAC/STAFF printers were not working. ITS identified the issue, and service was restored at 8:50 am. We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your understanding. |

Update: In the interest of easy, efficient access during this last week of classes, we have switched the new password/authentication required option back to OFF for shared Zoom cloud recordings. Zoom did enact the password requirement on Sunday in order to improve security and to disable the ability for people to "browse" all recordings. If you do have recordings you prefer not to be public you may set them to Private, Password Required, or you may remove them from the Zoom cloud. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We believe that Zoom has made some global security changes late last week which did effectively increase security, but which may have made your recordings inaccessible to your students. We are investigating these changes now. A work-around/solution appears to be to go to your recording management page at https://zoom.us and click to make your recordings public. |

Update: This was an issue on the Google side of the connection. Truman services have been restored and queued mail has been delivered. Google provided the following info: 10:58 am - The problem with Gmail should be resolved. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and continued support. Please rest assured that system reliability is a top priority at Google, and we are making continuous improvements to make our systems better. 10:37 am - Gmail service has already been restored for some users, and we expect a resolution for all users in the near future. Please note this time frame is an estimate and may change. The affected users are able to access Gmail, but may experience delays in sending or receiving messages. 10:04 am - Google was investigating reports of an issue with Gmail.
Incoming email directed to Truman student gmail accounts is not being delivered. The mail is being queued on the local mail server and will be delivered once the connection to Google is fixed. A support ticket has been entered with Google. |

Banner upgrade is complete. Banner and all Banner related services are available. ---------- Banner Upgrade The Banner system is scheduled for a major upgrade this Sunday, March 1st. Banner and all Banner integrated, dependent services including the Banner links in TruView will be unavailable starting at 4am Sunday morning, March 1st, and will remain down until the completion of the upgrade. Please plan for Banner services to be unavailable all day. A Service Note will be sent out when the Banner system is available following completion of the upgrade. Note: Blackboard services will not be impacted by the Banner upgrade and will be available as usual.

Due to a space issue, the Banner database had disrupted service between approximately 6:40pm to 10:30pm last night. We have resolved the issue. We will work with areas this morning that have routine jobs that didn't complete successfully. |

***Update*** The upgrade was completed successfuly at 3:39 am. We'll be performing a software upgrade on one of the switch stacks in Magruder Hall at 3:25am on 1/17/20. The software upgrade should take around 15 minutes to complete. |

The Blackboard upgrade is complete and Blackboard services are available. ------------------- Blackboard Upgrade: We have rescheduled the Blackboard Learn course management system upgrade for Monday, January 6th beginning at 4am with the normal shutdown for backups. This update includes several primary core infrastructure upgrades including migration to new servers and upgrading the database. Campus should plan for the Blackboard system to be unavailable for the whole day. The migration of servers and database upgrade will both be lengthy processes. We will update this Service Note when the system is available. We appreciate your patience as we work to keep this critical system up-to-date. |

Starting at 9:00 PM tonight, ITS will be performing maintenance and upgrades. This maintenance will be done in steps, and will only affect portions of the network at any given moment, but the network as a whole will be affected throughout the process. The maintenance will continue through the early morning hours, and should be done by start of business tomorrow. An update will be posted when the maintenance has completed.
