Known Issue - Defect Fixed
- Our Development team has been working hard to address the issue reported in this support case: 02157304. We confirm that this software defect will be resolved in an upcoming version of Brightspace.
*Update 4/1/25* D2L Support reports the following -
- Our Development team has reviewed the issue reported in support case 02157304 and confirmed that it is related to a software defect.

- We will send another update through this support case when this software defect has been addressed.
*Update 3/28/25* Two possible work-arounds as we wait for a full solution:
- Some affected instructors report having success making announcements and other small updates by accessing Brightspace via the phone app.
- Some affected instructors report being able to successfully gain access to a functional navigation bar and then all content areas by clicking any item or link available on the malfunctioning homepage - even the chat bot link. Once you follow a functional link to its target page - that page, in most cases, has a functional navigation bar that allows you to move through the course normally.
Beginning yesterday, 3/27/25, a small number of Truman instructors began reporting a variety of issues related to navigation within a course or course homepage content. Upon not being able resolve the issue locally, we opened a case with D2L Support. Thus far they have identified the issues to be related to one of the widgets installed on the course homepage template, but have not yet resolved the issue. This is not affecting students. Although it is happening for several instructors, we have confirmed that it is not occurring for all instructors, nor for all courses. We will update this Service Note when additional information is available.
