Policy
By request, academic divisions, administrative units and chartered organizations will be granted an an e-mail account and web space to facilitate communication between the group and interested parties. The academic division or administrative unit must identify one faculty/staff member to be responsible for the account and to act as the technical contact for the account. For chartered organizations the responsible person shall be the organization webmaster. Approval for the account must be granted by the division/department head or by the chartered organization's faculty/staff advisor. Both the technical contact and the grantor of approval must agree to be responsible for usage of the account and sign the request form. Appropriate computer use policies apply to the use of electronic communication and content posted on web pages, (information posted must be related to the group’s purpose rather than be personal in nature) including policies regarding commercial use, copyright, and harassment.
Definitions
E-mail account - an official Truman address/ID via which the group can receive e-mail
Web Space - a "virtual server" account on a Truman webserver on which a group can place web pages and related scripts. Multiple persons can be given secure access to edit and manage this webspace.
