LAN Upgrade Discrepancy Resolution Proposal

The purpose of this document is to address the concerns raised in the LAN Upgrade Fiber Discrepancy Report.

Public Safety - Continue to utilize multimode fiber at 100Mb
Student Recreation Center - Continue to utilize multimode fiber at 100Mb
Pickler Memorial Library - Have single mode fiber run from the WIC to the first floor west closet.
Baldwin Hall - Utilize multimode fiber and jumper the north closet from the south closet.
Student Union Building - Have single mode fiber run from WIC to the north closet and jumper south closet from the north.
Centennial Hall - Jumper south closet to the north closet and utilize one pair of single mode fiber.
Child Development Center - Replace existing switch with Cisco switch utilizing existing copper uplink.
Power Plant - Utilize multimode fiber.
Barnett Hall - Replace existing fiber to building.
Pershing Building - Have single mode fiber installed from WIC to closet location.
Blanton Hall Desk - Replace current switch with Cisco utilizing existing uplink until the closet can be phased out.
Grimm Hall - Utilize existing multimode fiber.
Dobson Hall - Have single mode fiber run to north closet. Jumper south closet to north and have multimode fiber run from the WIC to the lab.
Ryle Hall - Utilize existing fiber moving one GBIC to from the south closet to the north closet.
Violette Hall - Move core switch to the north closet.
Additional fiber needed:
- Barnett Hall fiber to the building
- Pickler Memorial Library single mode fiber to the first floor west closet from WIC.
- Pershing Building single mode fiber to the closet from the WIC.
- Student Union Building single mode fiber to the north closet from WIC.
- Dobson Hall single mode fiber from the WIC to the north closet and multimode fiber from the WIC to the lab.
